Since their arrival at Luv A Chin Rescue, every dog has been loved and nurtured in a dedicated foster home, not a Shelter. Because we specialize in giving each dog time and the individual attention they need, our experienced foster parents are able to assess each dog’s unique personality, socialization skills, and specific needs. If you are ready to open your heart and home, the first step is to fill out our adoption application completely and submit it. Please remember that we are not a first-come, first-served rescue. Our commitment is to find the best match for each dog’s long-term needs, and we thoroughly review every application to ensure this perfect pairing.
You will receive an email confirmation once your application is submitted (please check your spam folder!). After we have reviewed all incoming applications, we will advise all applicants of their status.
Meet Baby 
The Ultimate Pampered Princess
We have a very special Japanese Chin girl who is looking for her perfect “forever” match. “Baby” is a darling 5-year-old little diva who knows exactly what she wants: to be the center of your world.
About Baby
Baby has recently been spayed, micro-chipped, and is fully up-to-date on all her vaccinations. She is a healthy, vibrant girl with a personality that truly shines when she is the star of the show.
The Perfect Home
Baby has some specific needs to ensure she—and her new family—are successful:
- The “Only” Child: Baby does not want to share the love. She isn’t fond of other dogs and can be food aggressive. She requires a home where she will remain the only pet.
- Human Connection: She is incredibly affectionate with humans. We are looking for an adult-only home or a family with older children (ages 10+).
- Attention Seekers Welcome: She thrives on undivided attention and wants to be your pampered princess.
Potty Habits
Baby is a good girl with her routine! If let out frequently, her house training is very reliable. If she needs to be left alone for more than a couple of hours, she is trained to use potty pads in a confined area.
Location & Logistics
- Foster Location: SW Minnesota.
- Transport: We do not ship our dogs. If approved and chosen, the adopter must be able to travel to Minnesota to pick her up in person.
- Adoption Fee: $400.00 + $29.50 MN tax.

Meet Howard: The Tiny Acrobat!
ADOPTION PENDING
Breed: Japanese Chin
DOB: 10/12/25 (Puppy)
Color: Sable & White
Location: SW Minnesota
The Howard Highlights
Personality: Full of puppy energy, fun-loving, and exceptionally clever.
Special Skill: A regular “Houdini”—he has already mastered scaling a 36” high pen!
Social Life: Needs a home with another young, playful, small dog to be his best buddy.
Health: Up to date on puppy shots, parasite-free, and will be neutered prior to adoption.
About Howard
Little Howard is just as cute as can be! As a young Japanese Chin, he is a “clean slate” looking for a family that can provide him with lots of attention, patience, and the training he needs to learn the house rules. If their are children in the home, they must be 10 or older.
He is a surprisingly athletic little guy. His foster mom was recently shocked to find him sitting in a box on a table next to his 36″ high pen—he had climbed right up the side! Because of his climbing skills, his ideal home will need a secure, high, vertical plank fence to keep him safe during outdoor play.

- A Puppy-Proofed Space: Essential for this curious and active boy.
- A Small Dog Playmate: Japanese Chins thrive with companionship; a younger, playful small dog is a plus.
- Training & Time: Puppies are a lot of work! Howard needs a family dedicated to his development.
- Travel: Adopters must be able to travel to Minnesota to pick up their new fur-baby in person.

Meet Beanie: The Sweetest “World Class” Climber
ADOPTION PENDING

Age: approx. 4 years

Personality
Meet Beanie, quite possibly one of the sweetest souls we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. This easy-going sweetheart is the definition of “laid back.” He is a social butterfly who gets along famously with all the other dogs in his foster home. If you are looking for a gentle companion to add to your pack, Beanie is your guy!
The Perfect Home
Beanie is a “people person” through and through. He would thrive in a home where:
- Someone is home often: He loves companionship and doesn’t like to be alone for long stretches.
- Furry Friends: He enjoys the company of other small to medium-sized dogs. (Please note: He has not been tested with cats).
- Patience & Care: He has very good potty habits when let out frequently. On the occasions his person needs to be away for more than a couple of hours, he is a gentleman about wearing a “belly band” to keep things tidy.
🏆“World Class” Athlete
Don’t let his relaxed demeanor fool you—Beanie is a secret athlete! He is a world-class climber who has already successfully scaled and escaped a 40-inch high exercise pen. Because he loves to explore the great outdoors, his safety is our top priority.
Strict Fencing Requirements:
- A fenced yard is required.
- Due to his climbing skills, his forever home must have a tall, secure fence with vertical boards or planks (no chain link or horizontal slats that could act as a ladder).
Health & Adoption Details
Beanie is being fully vetted and will be ready for his new life soon! Before adoption, he will be:
- Neutered
- Micro-chipped
- Heartworm tested
- Current on all vaccinations
Adoption Fee: $400 + $29.50 MN Tax
